What is Wide Plank Flooring?

French Oak floors; also refered to as Wide Plank floors are engineered floors that range between 6" & 12" wide & come in either fixed long length or various length up to 96". It usually has a thick wear layer between 3MM & 5MM & is available in select or character grades. Wide planks floors have been very popular in the past 20 years that almost every wood floor manufacturer has ventured into making them.

Traditionally; wide plank floors started as a 3/8" thick but now they area available in 1/2", 9/16", 5/8" & even 3/4" which make them very popular. As a multi-layer engineered floor, wide planks can stand higher levels of moisture & can be glued down literally on any level of your home.

Even in a basement, wide plank floors can be installed using a moisture cure or moisture block adhesive with absolutely no issues.
